Alumni and other visitors are welcome to use the Library spaces and the physical collection for private study and register to borrow from the physical collection (fees may apply).

Current students and staff

Current students or staff are automatic members of the Library. Use your Murdoch ID card to borrow items. Your Murdoch login details gives you access to electronic Library resources from off campus.

Alumni

Members of Murdoch Alumni Association can continue an association with the University through membership of the Library.

Fees

Alumni membership is free.

Registration

Apply online

Once registered, go to My Library to setup your Library PIN. Membership is valid for 12 months. Contact us to renew your membership.

Database access

Due to licensing restrictions, the Library is unable to provide access to all electronic resources from off-campus to Alumni members. You can search the following databases from home*:

  • ProQuest
  • AUSTLIT
  • OECD iLibrary
  • eResources at the National Library of Australia (NLA)
  • Databases at the State Library of WA

Visitors from the other universities and institutions can join the Library.

Membership expires on 28 February the following year. You need to renew your membership each year.

Visitors from International universities
Students enrolled at international universities who are living in the Perth area. Membership is for the length of your stay in Australia (maximum 12 months).

When applying, bring photo ID, proof of current enrolment or employment and a letter from your home institution confirming that you are of good standing.

MIT students You automatically become a member when you enrol.
MIT staff Complete the Request for Murdoch Username and Password form. Advise IT Services you require library access.
High school students and others
  • High school students (Years 11 and 12) and teachers
  • International students in their final year at Canning College, Cambridge International College, Kingston International College, Phoenix Academy, Perth International College of English (PICE) & Tuart College.

We welcome community members to join Murdoch University Library.

Community membership has an annual fee of $99.

Bring photo ID to the Information Desk at the Geoffrey Bolton Library to join.

Concessional rates are available. Bring documentary evidence as proof of your organisational membership.

We welcome organisations and businesses including commercial tenants of Murdoch University to join the Library.

Corporate membership has an annual fee of $250.

Bring current corporate and photo ID to the Information Desk at the Geoffrey Bolton Library to join. Three membership cards will be issued to nominated members.

Membership information

Borrowing

You can borrow 30 items for 6 weeks. High Demand items, BONUS+, ArticleReach and Document Delivery services are not available.

Database access

Most databases are accessible on our public access computers. Generally, no external access to databases is provided.

Copying and printing

To use printers and copies at the Library, borrow a temporary print card from IT Services.
