Joining the Library

Staff and students from the following institutions can join Murdoch University Library free of charge.

WA universities University of WA, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, University of Notre Dame Australia. Apply online
Students and staff from other universities Students and staff from participating ULANZ universities only.
Membership expires on 28 February the following year. You need to renew your membership each year.

International university students and staff
Students enrolled at international universities who are living in the Perth area. Membership is for the length of your stay in Australia (maximum 12 months).

When applying, please present:

  • photo ID
  • proof of current enrolment or employment
  • letter from your home institution confirming that you are of good standing.
MIT students You automatically become a member of Murdoch University Library when you enrol.
MIT staff Complete the Request for Murdoch Username and Password form. Advise IT Services you require library access.
Other students
  • High school students (Years 11 and 12) and teachers
  • International students in their final year at Canning College, Cambridge International College, Kingston International College, Phoenix Academy, Perth International College of English (PICE) & Tuart College
  • Perth College of Divinity and Joint Faculty of Theology Students (including Wollaston Theological College)
  • Perth Bible College
  • Vose Seminary
  • TAFE WA
  • Tabor Adelaide (Perth Campus only), see Community Borrowers
Present student ID and proof of current enrolment to Library staff at the Information Desk (applicants under 18 years of age require parent or guardian signature)

Borrowing and access

  • You can borrow up to 30 items for 6 weeks. See Borrowing for more information.
  • Four public access computers are available near the Library entrance. Most Library databases are accessible on our public access computers. See the IT Service Desk to use these computers.
  • High Demand items and some DVDs and Videos are not available to borrow by non-Murdoch members.
  • Document Delivery services and requesting on BONUS+ and ArticleReach are not available to non-Murdoch members.

Copying and printing

For copying and printing services, borrow a temporary Library Print card from the IT Service Desk.
