How can I start my research for an essay in microbiology/journalism/whatever?

We have prepared a handy guide to help you out.

Do you still have a page where I can find specific databases?

We still have a complete A-Z listing of the databases we subscribe to, as well as subject-specific lists.

Do you do library tours, and how do I organise one?

We welcome groups who wish to visit the library and will take bookings and provide information for self-guided tours.

I can’t find my lecture theatre/tutorial room/unit coordinator! Can you help?

The University website has a search function that will find buildings, lecture theatres and staff directory results. For specific tutorial rooms, try using the floor plans provided by Facilities Management.

How many books can I get out?

That depends upon what type of patron you are, we’ve created a page that gives you all the information in one place.

Can you tell me about internet access?

From January 2011 internet access will be free for students.
For all other patrons please see the IT helpdesk on North Wing 2 for an access card.

What do I need to know about reserve items?

Reserve items are a two hour loan unless otherwise marked and you can borrow up to 2 reserve items at a time. Overnight loans are available an hour before desk services cease. The Reserve section is to the left of the Loans desk as you come into the Library.

Can you tell me more about penalty points?

Late items accrue penalty points, at a certain level of penalty points (depending upon your patron type) library access will be blocked and a $50 penalty will be applied.

I pressed print - where do I find the printer?

Printers are named with the initials of their location (for example, LLCNW3 is located at Library Learning Common North Wing level 3) and computers will default to the nearest printer. We’ve constructed a list of printers to aid identification.
