Library tours and visits
The Library welcomes visitors including school groups, senior college campuses and community groups, however as we are a busy Academic Library, we are unable to provide guided walking tours of the building.
You are welcome to lead your group on a visit/tour of the library. You may like to use our Self Guided Tour Map (PDF, 575KB) to assist you.
Planning your visit
Supervised groups are welcome to visit the Library between thehours of 9.30am - 3.00pm.
Make a booking (essential)
For your convenience we’ve provided an online booking request form.
Please have at least two possible dates in mind and submit your request at least two weeks in advance. The Library is a popular and busy place and we need to coordinate activities in order to avoid undue congestion.

Getting here
Library is located adjacent to Bush Court on the Murdoch Campus at South Street, Murdoch.

Visitor parking is available in Car Park 3.
Please note: there is no parking available undercover.
Facilities
Toilets
Toilets are located next to the Alumni office on the western side of Bush Court and next to the Student Guild shop on the eastern side of Bush Court.
Food and drink
While no food and drink are allowed in the Library, there is a Food Hall located on the western side of Bush Court, and you are welcome to picnic on the grass.
Access
The library is wheelchair accessible and lifts service all levels of the Library building.
Accessible toilets - available on South Wing 3 and Learning Common North Wing 2.
Important information
Bookings and planning
- Library visits are free of charge, but must be booked in advance.
- Visits/Tours will not be scheduled during busy times including the University's Orientation weeks and final exam periods, etc.
- We recommend a student - teacher ratio of 1 teacher per 15 students.
- Groups must have a designated group leader (teacher, teaching assistant or member of school staff) to accompany them at all times.
- The Library has no storage facilities for bags, so travel light!

- Please advise staff at the Enquiry and Loans Desk of your arrival.
- The Library is a busy place and students will be studying – please keep disruption and noise to a minimum and be polite and respectful of the Library environment.
- No food, drink or phone conversations are permitted in the Library.
- The Library staff cannot accept responsibility for supervising non-university groups or for the loss of valuable items or bags.
