Murdoch University Learning Common
The Murdoch University Learning Common is a uniquely-designed learning facility that brings together some of the key supports, concepts and resources supporting student learning.
The Learning Common spaces are located on levels 2 and 3 of the North Wing in the Library at South Street Campus.
Computers
The Learning Common is home to over 180 computers, of which 81 are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on Level 2.
The computers are made available in various configurations including stand up 'counter style' for quick access to check emails etc., 'classroom mode' for teaching and self study use and 'group study mode' for when you are working on a group project.
The Learning Common is also a wireless hotspot. Study benches with power are available so you can fire up your laptop.
The Library has two mobile workstations available for use. Each is a large flatscreen television with an attached computer, suitable for presentations, demonstrations or film viewing (in suitable areas).
Seating and lounge areas

The Learning Common seating arrangements reflect student needs as well, whether it be study related or just for hanging out and catching up with friends. Casual, booth and group seating arrangements are all in place. There are also two tutorial rooms that students can use for project work.
Support services
We have gathered together some of the key support services for students.
The First Year Experience Office, Student Learning, IT Service counter, Murdoch Print and the Library Reference, Enquiries and Loans desks are all located within the Learning Common.
For a great coffee to get you through the day, both Sir Walter's and Kadjininy cafes are within easy reach.
The food the drink policy has been relaxed on Level 3 of the Library (excluding Reserve Area). You can bring covered drinks and cold food with you to study or relax between classes, but please be mindful of others, do not bring hot food into the Library and dispose of your rubbish responsibly.
24/7 access
After the Library closes, the 24/7 area on Level 2 is accessible from the ECL Courtyard using your student or staff card.
