Important Information
New to Murdoch?
If you have just started OUA study at Murdoch and you're not sure where to start, visit this guide.
Joining the Library
When you enrol in an OUA course or unit at Murdoch University, your details are automatically passed to the library for that study period. You may use the Library's External Library Services for your Murdoch studies no matter how close you live to the University.
Getting an ID/Library Card
Unless you're planning to borrow from Murdoch University Library in person, you don't need a library card. If you do require one, please request this in person at the IT help desk in the Library or submit an application form. (DOC, 25kb)
Using other libraries
Murdoch Library will provide full library services for any Murdoch unit you are enrolled in. However, you may wish to use another library closer to home. Please contact them for details about available services and any fees (which you would be responsible for).
OUA Students not enrolled in Murdoch University units
The university running your unit should provide all of your library services. However, you may visit Murdoch University Library and may join as a Community Member if you wish to borrow.
FAQ
What should I do if I can't login to My Library, electronic course materials (ECMS) or library databases?
First, try resetting your Murdoch password. If you're still having trouble, contact the Library.
What unit materials will the Library send me?
You are expected to purchase essential textbooks and Unit Readers. Most unit readings are available on ECMS. However, we recommend that you purchase the Unit Reader so you have access to all the readings (copyright compliance means that not all readings can be digitised). You can request further readings and journal articles from the Library. Please see your posted unit materials for copies of past exam papers.
I need to use LITE, how do I login?
- Connect to the Current Students page
- Click on the MyMurdoch option and then login using your Murdoch Username and Password
- In your unit listing, click LITE OUA
What's the best way to get help to find references for an essay?
Check out the Subject Guides, put together by specialist Subject Librarians. If you're still having trouble, Ask A Librarian.
Can OUA students use the Learning Common?
Yes, if you're currently enrolled in a unit with Murdoch University. You will need a Student ID/Library Card for swipe access after hours.
How can I give feedback about the Library service I receive as an OUA student?
You can provide feedback via the form which is linked on the upper right hand side of the Library homepage, or by contacting Jan Rutherford, Manager, Library Client Services.
