OUA Students

Open Universities Australia (OUA) students enrolled in units at Murdoch are automatically eligible to use:

You are expected to purchase essential textbooks. Most unit readings will be available through My Unit Readings.

Borrowing and access

Use your Murdoch ID and password to access online library resources.

A library card is not necessary unless you plan to borrow from the library in person or to use the Learning Common after hours. Please visit the IT Service Desk at the Geoffrey Bolton Library to apply for a library card, or complete this form.

OUA students not currently enrolled in Murdoch units may join as Community Members.


Request scanned copies (PDF) of journal articles or book chapters to be sent to you via email.

Before making a request, check:

  1. My Unit Readings: the reading may already be available in digital format.
  2. Findit: to see if the reading is available online.

Copyright restrictions apply.The Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) (s.49) states that you may request the copying of: no more than 1 chapter (or 10%) of any one book. only one article from any one issue of a journal, also, you may request more than one article from an issue if they are all required for the same topic of study or research.)

Using other libraries

You may be eligible to join your local academic library.

Please introduce yourself as a Murdoch University student at your local academic library. Take your current Murdoch ID card as proof of enrolment. You will be responsible for any fees associated with joining.
